These classes work on the inner muscles of the abdominals, switching on your core and gently making you stronger after birth. Pelvic Floor work is key, and exercises are included in each class to help tone and strengthen this area. Achy neck muscles are gently stretched. Each class has a Relaxation with your baby at the end.

Classes also include:

  • Baby Massage (Tummy & Feet – to ease wind/colic/constipation and to Calm baby)
  • Post-Natal Dance – Bring your sling if you have one for a little bit of dance with your baby

Time: 11am to 12.15

Post-Natal Yoga – Mum and Baby classes are suitable to attend from Birth and promote Postnatal healing to aid recovery from labour, birth and pregnancy. These classes are suitable for complete beginners and are gentle enough for caesarean recovery. We include interactive moves with your baby to ensure this class is interesting for both you and your little one.

You do not need to wait until your 6 week check-up to attend these classes, as they are very gentle.

About Birthlight Post-Natal Yoga

Postnatal yoga uses movement, balance and relaxation to allow your body to recover from pregnancy and birth. It helps to heal the body and mind, and repair all the tissues back to their former glory. It is designed for mums with their babies and so incorporates the little ones into the practice, either using yoga asanas to keep the babies entertained, or holding the babies as part of the yoga itself.

The class is designed to nurture new mums and provide a safe environment for them to heal and repair their bodies, to talk about their experiences of birth and as a new mum, and safely allow them to reconnect with their bodies – without their former passenger!
